BELGIAN NATIONAL PRIDE (2001,July 21) :

At the request of  Colonel Guido DENIS in charge of the Historical service of the Belgian Federal Police we were asked to represent the first Belgian Gendarmes of 1830.
It was with great honor that we paraded in front of His Majesty King Albert II , the royal family and the government. (click on images to enlarge) In the first picture you can see the detail of the Drumboy's horse: The reins are tied to the stirrups thus leaving the drumboy's hands free.
